Located in the east of Orsterra, the Moonstruck Coast and the West Goldshire Coast are both part of the same, continuous lakeside path that links both Goldshore and Grandport to the mainland. Despite having different names they share the same monsters, and are essentially one long area encompassing two screens. If you want to take on Alfyn or Ophilia's chapters in Goldshore, or the finale of Tressa's tale in Grandport, you'll inevitably have to trek along here.
You'll run into the following monsters along the two coasts:
- Sea Birdian IV - Weak to Polearm, Staff, Fire, and Lightning. Physical enemy. Pretty unremarkable.
- Sea Birdian V - Weak to Polearm, Staff, Fire, and Lightning. Most dangerous for Inspiration, which buffs its whole team. A backup threat.
- Sea Birdian VI - Weak to Sword, Fire, and Wind. Can confuse your characters. Quick to stun, so take aim at it first in a fight.
- Sea Birdking I - Weak to Polearm, Axe, Bow, and Lightning. Uses a speed buff and a bunch of physical Skills. Fairly dangerous, but not that difficult to stun.
- Buccaneer I - Weak to Polearm and Fire. Can poison your characters. Pretty simple enemy to kill if you have a Scholar on your party.
- Buccaneer II - Weak to Polearm and Fire. Can buff themselves and confuse your characters. Slightly tougher than the Buccaneer I, but not by much.
- Scissor Crab - Weak to Dagger, Axe, and Wind. Can poison your characters. Pretty unremarkable.
- Scythe Crab - Weak to Dagger, Axe, and Wind. Can poison your whole party at once. More dangerous than the Scissor Crab it replaces, but still a lower-tier threat.
- Kingfisher - Weak to Polearm, Bow, and Wind. Mainly dangerous because of Meteor Storm, which you shouldn't see too often. Still worth stunning early.
- Rock Tortoise - Weak to Sword and Wind. Buff, high-defense enemy that can take a lot of hits to defeat. If you can't target its weaknesses then magical Skills are your best bet.
- Mossy Tortoise - Weak to Sword and Wind. A stronger version of the Rock Tortoise that can use Lightning Skills.
You'll first come to the coasts via the North Stonegard Pass, heading north. We'll begin our journey from that entry point.
Moonstruck Coast
You'll begin on the south end of the map. Head east, though check the rocks near the first directional flag and you'll find a semi-hidden chest containing a Healing Grape (M) on your left. Continue northeast until you hit a road sign on a beach. To the east from the sign is a chest containing a Copper-filled Pouch.
Head west from the sign and you'll come to a save point, as well as a path leading north. Keep going west under a rocky archway until you come to a log. Next to the log is a rock, sticking out of the water, and behind the rock is a chest containing an Inspiriting Plum. This looks like a dead end, but if you check behind the rocky cliffs to the northwest of the chest you'll find the Shrine of the Trader. Interacting with the icon inside the shrine will unlock Merchant as a secondary job for your whole party.
Leave the shrine and head back east. Beside the save point is a mound of rocks that look like scenery, but they can be climbed. Atop the rocks you'll find a purple chest containing an Articulate Stone. Get back onto the beach and head north and you'll soon find yourself leaving the Moonstruck Coast behind.
West Goldshore Coast
Follow the main path east upon entering the area. You'll soon see a small beach on your right with a chest containing an Energizing Pomegranate. Near the beach is an Unsavory Man who is part of a Side Story, and you can Steal / Purchase a Refreshing Jam from him, to boot.
Keep following the main path and you'll soon come to a save point near a bridge. Take a right from the save point and you'll be on your way to Goldshore. If you cross the bridge you'll find a Knowledgeable Traveler on the other side. He has, among other things, a Critical Nut (M) for you to Steal / Purchase, and you can Inquire / Scrutinize him for the A Safe Route info, which is part of a Side Story.
There's an up ramp and a down ramp near the Knowledgeable Traveler. Take the down ramp and you'll cross another bridge to the west. Look south of the second bridge to find a small beach with a chest containing a Bottle of Blinding Dust. North of here is the Captains' Bane, a Danger Level 35 dungeon that's part of a Side Story. Outside the dungeon is a Leviathan Hunter who is also part of the Side Story.
Head back to the Knowledgeable Traveler and take the up ramp. Follow the short path to the left to find a chest containing an Herb of Valor, then head north. The path will soon wind east, taking you to the entrance to the West Grandport Coast. This area is a fair bit more difficult than the West Goldshore Coast, so don't enter it lightly. Check just south of the bridge to the new area for a chest containing a Thunder Soulstone (M) and you'll be all done with the two coasts.
