A forested roadway in the northwest of Orsterra, the East Duskbarrow Trail is the penultimate destination on any trip to the town of Duskbarrow. To reach it you'll need to head north along the East Victors Hollow Trail, past Victors Hollow. The East Duskbarrow Trail itself is pretty straightforward, though there are a few side items of note that are easy to miss if you don't know they're around.
Unsurprisingly, there are a fair number of forest-dwelling monsters that will attempt to bar your passage:
- Forest Ratking I - Weak to Dagger, Staff, Ice, and Wind. Can buff its party and use melee Skills. Pretty basic.
- Forest Ratking II - Weak to Dagger, Staff, Ice, and Wind. Melee combatant. Strong, but easy to stun.
- Forest Ratking III - Weak to Sword, Axe, and Lightning. Buffer and melee fighter. Worth targeting first.
- Raging Treant - Weak to Axe and Fire. Can blind and silence your party members. A fair nuisance if you don't have the right jobs.
- Ettin Ophidian - Weak to Dagger, Axe, Wind, and Dark. Nasty melee enemy that can put your characters to sleep. Stun them promptly if you can.
- Black Howler - Weak to Polearm, Bow, and Lightning. Debuffer that can use some Wind Skills. Annoying, but not a priority enemy.
- Peek-a-Boo - Weak to Axe and Lightning. Debuffing enemy with some strong melee Skills and the ability to inflict terror. Fairly annoying.
We'll start our trip through here via the East Victors Hollow entrance, in the south of the map.
Follow the path north and west. Head south just as the path swings north again and you'll find a chest containing an Herb of Revival. Head north and the path will split again; go left and you'll find an Herb of Clamor.
Get back on the main path and keep following it north. As it sends you west you'll see a rocky rise on your left with a tree in the middle. If you check the right side of the rocks you'll find a hidden path leading to a chest that contains an Olive of Life (M). If you keep walking west past the chest you'll find that the path continues, leading you to the Shrine of the Archmagus, a Danger Level 50 dungeon. If you complete it you'll gain a new job. Worth it.
Head back to the main path and keep following west. It'll bring you to a save point, to the south of which is a chest containing a Copper-filled Pouch. Look just to the right of the save point and you'll find an obscured path leading to the Moldering Ruins, a Danger Level 45 dungeon. If you can handle this area you can handle the Moldering Ruins just fine.
Return to the main path. Keep going west and you'll wind up at Buskbarrow in short order.
