The connective path that brings travelers to the town of Riverford, the North Riverford Traverse is a must-visit if you want to see all of Olberic's story. You'll find it by traveling to the southwest of the South Orewell Pass, itself connected to the South Quarrycrest Pass and eventually leading to the town of Orewell.
There are plenty of enemies in this verdant area that would love to bring you down:
- River Frogking I - Weak to Sword, Staff, Wind, and Dark. Melee fighter that can put your characters to sleep. Not a massive threat.
- River Frogking II - Weak to Sword, Staff, Wind, and Dark. Slightly more dangerous than the River Frogking II, but still not a big deal.
- River Frogking III - Weak to Dagger, Bow, and Ice. Much more powerful melee enemy. Worth targeting first.
- Horned Fly - Weak to Polearm, Bow, Ice, and Wind. Can confuse your characters. Stun these things quickly at a minimum.
- Lord of the Flies - Weak to Polearm, Bow, Ice, and Wind. Can confuse your characters, but can also buff enemies and use decent melee attacks. Good to take down quickly.
- Ettin Asp - Weak to Dagger, Axe, and Fire. Powerful melee enemy that can poison your characters. A higher-level threat for the area.
- Blue Bull - Weak to Sword and Light. An extremely dangerous melee force that you should promptly stun before it can use Extreme Charge. One hit will do it.
There's only one entrance to the North Riverford Traverse before you reach Riverford itself, so we'll start our exploration of the area in the north.
Trek south, across a bridge, and you'll start seeing torches marking the main path. Head west from the second torch and you'll find a hidden path leading to a cave. This is the Shrine of the Warbringer, a Danger Level 50 dungeon where you can earn an advanced secondary job... assuming you can beat one of the most unfair bosses in Octopath Traveler. Yay! To the right of the cave is a chest containing an Herb of Revival.
Walk east until you come to a save point. There's an off-the-beaten-path trail you can take to the south that leads east and west. To the east you'll find the Refuge Ruins, a Danger Level 50 dungeon. To the west is a Silver-Filled Pouch, down a more obvious path, and a Wind Soulstone (L), hidden down another secret path.
All done. Get back on the main path and continue east to find your way to Riverford.
