Main Walkthrough

One of Coral Island's two blacksmiths, Rafael is a bit of a tragic character. Despite his friendly demeanor Rafael tends towards solitude, and seems to prefer cleaning graveyards to interacting with others. Yet Rafael isn't complete cut off from others, and you can work your way into his life with a bit of persistence.

Rafael's birthday is on the 4th of Fall. You can romance him. 


Rafael's Schedule

A shy loner, Rafael is much for congregating with others, and most of the time you'll find him by himself if he's not with his brother Pablo. He's most located at the Blacksmith, where he lives and works, but aside from that Rafael can be found in a few different places throughout Starlet Town, almost always alone - or at least keeping to himself.
  • Rafael begins each day with the opening of the Blacksmith at 9:00, but he usually leaves for a few hours in the morning to go elsewhere. Some days he'll go south of the Blacksmith to clean tombstones, while others he'll head north to the taco truck. Pablo will mind the store in either case, and the pair will swap back and forth throughout the day. How long Rafael spends outside the Blacksmith varies, though he may linger outside until 13:00, depending on the day.
  • Rafael spends most of midday working at the Blacksmith. Occasionally around 11:00 he'll go to the taco truck and stay there for a few hours before heading back to work. When work ends early Rafael will stand in the yard outside the Blacksmith for a few hours.
  • More or less without exception, Rafael stays in after the Blacksmith closes shop at 18:00 (14:00 on Saturdays). This doesn't leave you with many opportunities to catch him at night, though the chances are pretty good you managed to speak to him during the day anyway.
In short, Rafael is easy to find. If he's not at the Blacksmith he's almost always somewhere nearby.


Events
  • At two hearts Rafael will begin to randomly send you Garnets and Sashimi in the mail.
  • At two hearts you can trigger a cutscene with Rafael and Valentina by visiting the Coral Inn on Saturday or Sunday, between 9:00 and 17:00.
  • At three hearts you can trigger a cutscene with Rafael by visiting the Blacksmith during store hours (9:00 to 18:00, 9:00 to 14:00 on Saturday, closed on Sunday).

Likes and Dislikes

Rafael doesn't love making food for himself, so giving him food is one of the better ways to befriend him. Once you've reached the third skill level of Fishing you'll learn how to make Sashimi, and churning it out in your kitchen will delight Rafael. You'll need the Chef Knife, one Wasabi (foraged in Fall), and one of any fish to make Sashimi.
