Given that this quest mentions her in the description - and that she plays a prominent role in the scenario - it's likely that Fancy Aromas unlocks when you achieve the first level of friendship with Cassandra. The co-owner of the Willow Waters Bathhouse in northeastern Moonbury, Cassandra can be found working there most days. You can also find her in her home, just south of your own house, in the mornings and at night. Cassandra is an early riser compared to most people, so catching her at home is easier late in the day.
(It's possible you also have to befriend Olive, the co-owner of Willow Waters Bathhouse. I'm not sure. She also spends a lot of time at the Bathhouse.)
Head to the Bathhouse during open hours, between 9:00 and 18:00 on any day but Thursday. You'll find Cassandra and Olive discussing aromas, and the fact that Moonbury doesn't really have a staple scent. Cassandra asks you to develop a Fancy Aromatic to fill the gap. The Fancy Aromatic template has eighteen squares to fill, and you can't use Water materials. You'll need to upgrade your Cauldron at least once, and gain access to Glaze Iceberg, to fill in the gaps.
Here are some suggested materials for crafting the Fancy Aromatic:
- Place two Ominous Tongues on the bottom of the template. Ominous Tongues are dropped by Bomber Bees on Glaze Iceberg.
- Put a Premium Pelt in the gap to the right of the two Ominous Tongues. Elder Wolves on Glaze Iceberg drop Premium Pelts.
- Place either a Bear's Claw or a Konjac above the Ominous Tongues. Both are found in Meadow Range: Bear's Claws are dropped by Honeypaws, while Konjac can be harvested in the north of the region.
- Stick a Timber Fruit at the top of the template. Timber Fruits are dropped by Blossom Shooters on Glaze Iceberg.
- Finish off the template with one Sap. Sap drops from trees.
