Main Walkthrough

Danger Level: 38

An unsettled island in the middle of the ocean, Nameless Isle is only accessible if you have a boat. In order to procure said boat you'll need to complete the Tropu'hopu instalment of Partitio's Scent of Commerce quests. Once you can go sailing you'll find Nameless Isle in the waters to the east of Canalbrine.

If you're exploring at random there's a good chance you'll come across the Nameless Isle. As far as storyline goes, however, you'll need to come here as part of the From the Far Reaches of Hell Side Story.

You'll start off on a beach. Head north and you'll find a dock that will allow you to canoe north. There's another dock up here that will drop you off by some steps. Follow the steps west, until they swing south. There's a ladder beside one of the torches along the path that will take you up to a chest. The chest contains a Conscious Stone.

Follow the main path south until it splits. Take a left and you'll find a chest containing a Healing Grape Bunch. To the right is a rope bridge that will take you to another split in the path. Take the lower pathway and it will lead you to a ladder, which in turn leads to a small beach by your boat. On the beach is a chest containing a Quartz Axe.

Down the northern path you'll see a chest nestled at the base of a tree. When you approach you'll be struck by an overwhelming sense of danger. Heal up, then get into a fight.

Gigantes

Shields: 11
Weakness: Sword, Bow, Fire, Ice, Lightning
Drop: Revitalizing Jam
Steal: Nothing

The Gigantes uses the following attacks:
  • A normal melee attack
  • Harden, which bumps the Gigantes' shields up to 11
  • Harden Segment, which locks away two of the Gigantes' weaknesses
  • Jolt, a physical attack against the entire party
  • Stunning Jolt, a physical attack against the entire party that can inflict Unconsciousness
  • Consume, a physical attack against one target that restores some of the Gigantes' health
  • Searing Flame, a Fire attack against the entire party
  • Fell Swoop, a charged physical attack that hits the whole party and buffs the Gigantes' offensive capabilities
For the most part the Gigantes' moves are just normal attacks. The trick behind this battle is that the Gigantes can change its shield count, and will add to it whenever it attacks your party. The Gigantes will add one or two points to its shields with every action. Later in the fight the Gigantes will begin charging up to Fell Swoop, but otherwise continues to attack as before.

The constant rise of the Gigantes' shields makes this fight seem scarier than it is. In truth, the Gigantes is saddled with the five weaknesses that are most easily exploited in the game. Use Aggressive Slice (Warrior), Precise Shot (Hunter), and Elemental Barrage (Scholar) to annihilate the Gigantes' shields and keep it Broken for the majority of the fight. One final character can work on healing the party, and provide BP via items when needed. Defensive buffs aren't a terrible idea if you find the Gigantes a bit strong for your liking. Otherwise, this is a simple battle.

Defeat the Gigantes and you'll discover that the Nameless Isle is not totally uninhabited, as a man named Georges Lazuli is hiding behind the nearby tree. Georges will remain on the Nameless Isle, and he's carrying a Vivid Jewel, a Mage's Robe, and a Quartz Rod. If you scrutinize Georges you'll learn How to Decipher Unknown Languages, which is necessary for completing From the Far Reaches of Hell. Take this info back to Al in Montwise.

Georges aside, all that is left on the Nameless Isle is the chest by the tree, which contains Finisher's Claws. Once you've collected your prize you can leave Nameless Isle and continue your journey elsewhere.
