Part 41: Through the Maelstrom
One harrowing defeat - and tender, moonlit night - later, Clive is back in the Hideaway. Pay a visit to the Infirmary and you'll watch a few cut scenes (one of which finally provides a purpose for a recurring NPC). Head to the Map Room next and speak to Vivian, then trek to the Shelves and speak to Joshua, who's standing near Harpocrates.
The conversation will clear up a few details regarding your next destination. Return to the Main Deck and Clive will chat with the crew, outlining the plan. Speak to Otto in the Mess to wrap things up, and to unlock your next destination: The Shadow Coast. Travel there now and you'll be allowed to leave again. You'll also add Joshua and Gav as party members...
... and they will come in handy if you decide to do some side content. Reaching this point in the story will unlock a ton of new quests, spread throughout the continent of Storm. You're not too far from the end of the game, and the items, experience, and money you'll earn from completing these quests can make the final stages a bit easier.
- Four new side quests have appeared in the Hideaway: Even Weirder Science, Blacksmith's Blues IV, Phoenix, Heal Thyself, and Self-Determination. The fourth is flound at Clive's Reading Desk.
- There are also a bunch more side quests in locations throughout the world: Under New Management (Northreach), Rekindling the Flame II (Martha's Rest), Lines in the Sand (Dalimil Inn), Trading Places II (Boklad), and Duty Undying (Tabor).
- If you complete Blacksmith's Blues IV you'll unlock the Tricephalic Terror Notorious Mark, and despite being S ranked it isn't too difficult to defeat. Travel to the Shadow Coast and you'll also unlock Pandemonium, though it is located over on Ash.
